Yb:YAG Laser Line (HR) Mirrors - purpose, key functions, production and customization
What is Yb:YAG Laser Line (HR) Mirror ?
Alien Photonics Yb:YAG laser line mirrors are single-band (narrow-band) mirrors designed to control Yb:YAG laser fundamental or harmonic wavelengths. Unlike Yb:YAG double-band mirrors and broad-band dielectric (BBHR) mirrors, these mirrors are specialized for only one wavelength. The aim is highest reflection possible (not as output couplers (partially reflective) mirrors, which are designed for specific constant reflection).
How Yb:YAG Laser Line (HR) Mirrors are manufactured
This optical component is made similarly to other dielectric mirrors by polishing, inspecting and coating design optical substrate (window). Process is almost identical to Nd:YAG and Ti:Sapphire Laser Line (HR) Mirrors production, but the coating design is optimized for Yb:YAG wavelengths. During the coating modeling, the coating is optimized either for maximal reflection (HR max.) for design wavelength or high laser induced damage threshold (LIDT). Angle of incidence (AOI) optimizations are also available upon request (options are not limited to 0°, 45° or 56°).
How to handle and clean Yb:YAG Laser Line (HR) Mirrors?
Dielectric coated Yb:YAG Laser Line (HR) Mirrors are way more resistant to physical contact and environmental impact when comparing to bare metal coated mirrors, such as Au, Ag, Al or others. Regular cleaning and handling instructions of dielectric coated optics are recommended by Alien Photonics.
Custom Yb:YAG Laser Line (HR) Mirrors
Standard mirrors are just a small part of Alien Photonics capabilities. We also offer other harmonics, custom size, shape options. Broad angle of incidence, various other optimizations are available. Contact us for consultation of non-standard customizations. If you are looking for HR mirrors for other lasers - check Alien Photonics Custom HR Mirrors.
